Blockchain gaming experienced a milestone in August, with 4.2 million daily active users, according to a report by DappRadar. Despite falling to second place among the most active crypto sectors due to the AI boom, the web3 gaming industry saw a 5% increase in daily unique active wallets (dUAW). Ronin dominated the landscape with the highest number of Unique Active Wallets (UAW), while opBNB and SKALE Network were the second and third most active blockchains for web3 gaming, respectively. KGeN, an ecosystem based on nine different blockchains, emerged as the leading gaming application, and Lumiterra, an MMORPG on Ronin, reported a player retention rate of over 80%. In terms of venture capital (VC) funding, blockchain gaming ranks fifth, with nearly $580 million raised so far in 2024.
