Prosecutors have presented internal documents from cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb as new evidence in a case against its former CEO, Lee Sang-joon. The documents suggest that Lee, along with two other executives, may have been involved in decisions regarding the listing of Dogecoin and Klaytn on the exchange. Lee has denied the accusations but the documents cast doubt on his claims. The investigation into Lee began in March 2023 when South Korean authorities looked into bribery allegations related to token listings. The exchange's de facto owner, Kang Jong-hyun, and his sister are also facing separate trials on charges including embezzlement and stock price manipulation.
