Puppynet, the testnet version of the Shibarium layer-2 solution for Shiba Inu (SHIB) cryptocurrency, is preparing for major tech upgrades. This includes a new version of Bor, one of the primary components of the network, as well as the implementation of the Cancun hard fork. The upgrades aim to improve transaction speed, storage efficiency, and user experience. Testnets like Puppynet provide developers with the opportunity to experiment with a network before launching it in a live environment, helping to identify and fix vulnerabilities. In August, Shibarium introduced a hard fork with a new Bore version that introduced a burn mechanism for testing purposes on Puppynet.
