Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko criticized the Ethereum layer-2 network ZKsync, stating that it still functions like a multisig system despite claiming to have community-led governance. Yakovenko argued that ZKsync's legal or technical control could easily fall under the jurisdiction of a court, compromising its decentralization. His comments were in response to Alex Gluchowski, CEO of Matter Labs, who claimed that ZKsync's new decentralized governance system is not a multisig setup and a critical step towards full decentralization. ZKsync's governance system includes a token assembly, a security council, and guardians who collaborate to review and execute proposals but prevent unilateral control over upgrades.
