Canadian mining firm HIVE Digital Technologies has achieved a 47% year-over-year increase in operational hashrate, reaching 6.0 exahashes per second (EH/s). The company upgraded its Bitcoin mining fleet with the latest Avalon machines from Canaan Inc. and secured competitive energy pricing in Sweden, resulting in lower operating costs and improved profitability. HIVE aims to reach 15 EH/s of global hashrate by the end of 2025 and plans to expand its fleet with a 100 MW hydroelectric-powered facility in Paraguay. The company expects this growth to drive down production costs and enhance return on investment. HIVE recently purchased 11,500 Avalon ASIC miners and 8.6 EH/s of Bitmain's S21+ Hydro machines as part of its expansion plan.
