E-Trade, the online brokerage division of Morgan Stanley, is reportedly considering launching crypto trading services due to a more favorable regulatory environment under the Trump administration. Currently, E-Trade does not offer direct crypto trading but provides indirect exposure through investment products. The move would make E-Trade a major traditional financial institution entering the crypto trading space, competing with platforms like Coinbase. This comes as institutional adoption of crypto assets is on the rise, and Morgan Stanley had previously announced access to Bitcoin ETFs for select clients. The timeline for the potential rollout has not been confirmed.
