In March, the non-fungible token (NFT) sector witnessed a significant decline in sales; statistics show that the total amount of sales during the 30 days of the month was $882.89 million, 31.42% lower than sales in February. The number of NFT buyers and transactions installed a 22-29% drop, respectively. Ethereum-based NFT sales dominated the March market, with more than 60% of total sales captured. The most significant contributor overall was the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection with $35.81 million in sales, while Cryptopunks NFT was the second largest contributor with $30.11 million. Among other top ten collections, Degods recorded a 70.53% increase, whereas Cryptopunks experienced a 87.95% influx in sales over the same period. March's most expensive NFT sales were Azimuth Points #236 for $704,000 and BAYC #5,116 for $689,000. Blur was the leading platform for NFT sales, with more than 70% capture and Opensea following suit with 19.9%. Despite March's decline in sales, NFT collections have successfully solidified their place as a revolutionary way to showcase and promote digital art.
