Zilliqa, a blockchain platform, has launched the Jasper proto-testnet for its upcoming Zilliqa 2.0 network. This testnet introduces a new Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus method designed to facilitate fast transactions and provide incentives for validators. The proto-testnet also emphasizes energy efficiency and scalability. It supports Scilla smart contracts and interoperability with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Zilliqa plans to work closely with its developer and validator community to gather feedback and improve the network. The launch of Zilliqa 2.0's mainnet and the rollout of x-shards and smart accounts are future milestones. Zilliqa is also collaborating with Brillion to tokenize real assets and bridge traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi). The native token of the Zilliqa network, ZIL, has seen a 4.61% rise in price following the launch of the proto-testnet.
