Anthony Scaramucci, managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, has criticized Donald Trump's new DeFi token, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), calling it a "nonsense" and a "money scam." Scaramucci believes the project is being used as a revenue source for Trump and warns investors against participating, stating it is a "transparent scam." Other prominent figures in the cryptocurrency industry, including Mark Cuban and Alex Miller, have expressed concerns about Trump's project, with Cuban questioning why Trump would pursue this move when he has prominent backers like Elon Musk. Miller called the WLFI token sale an "obvious pump scheme" and expressed concerns about its potential impact on the credibility of the crypto community. Despite criticisms, the token has seen significant sales, generating $12.5 million in sales from over 833 million tokens already sold.
