The Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, has announced that the country is conducting experimental testing for the use of cryptocurrencies in international payments. The testing phase is expected to last up to three years, with the first cryptocurrency transactions anticipated to take place by the end of 2024. Nabiullina stated that the results of this testing phase will determine whether any changes will be made to Russia's legal legislation regarding cryptocurrencies. Additionally, she mentioned that the digital ruble application will be launched comprehensively, with a target date for mid-next year, following a successful trial process.
