Sam Altman's Worldcoin project, now known as "World," has unveiled plans for an improved version of its iris-scanning device called "Orb 2.0." The project aims to create a system for anonymous online identity verification. World is opening verification storefronts in Buenos Aires and Mexico City and plans to place orbs in more day-to-day locations. Additionally, the project is allowing users to onboard by submitting government IDs, although this method does not involve iris scanning. The project also introduced a new product called World ID Deep Faces to combat deep fakes. After the presentation, the project's token, WLD, experienced a 5% decline in value.
