The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is preparing for a major update with the activation of the DID amendment on October 30. The amendment aims to align XRPL's decentralized identifier (DID) operations with the World Wide Web Consortium standard. Users will gain the ability to delete or create/update DIDs associated with their XRPL accounts. The amendment has received 29 votes, surpassing the required threshold for approval. Ripple Labs, Bitso, and Anodos Finance are among the validators supporting the amendment. This update is part of Ripple Labs' efforts to expand the functionality of the XRP Ledger, including its RLUSD stablecoin functionalities. The XRP Ledger is considered ready for widespread integration and adoption.
