Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has announced that professional investors in the country are now allowed to invest in foreign virtual asset ETFs through a re-entrustment method. This decision is part of the FSC's efforts to diversify product offerings and boost the re-entrustment business of securities firms. However, due to the high investment risks associated with crypto-related ETFs, the offering is limited to professional investors such as institutional investors, high-net-worth legal entities, and experienced high-asset clients. Securities firms are also required to establish a virtual asset ETF product suitability system and provide education and training on virtual assets to ensure comprehensive product understanding. Non-professional institutional investors must sign a risk disclosure statement before making their first investment.
