The National Pension Service (NPS) of South Korea has invested in global crypto exchange Coinbase and IT company MicroStrategy, but not for the purpose of investing in virtual assets like Bitcoin. The NPS clarified that the investments were unrelated to Bitcoin holdings and were made either through index management or entrusted management methods. The NPS holds 280,000 shares of Coinbase stock and 200 shares of MicroStrategy stock. Lawmaker Baek Jong-heon confirmed that the NPS is open to discussing restrictions on investment in companies related to virtual currency.
