Prominent attorney John Deaton has accused the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of intentional misconduct and unethical behavior during its legal dispute with Ripple. Deaton believes that the SEC's legal team misrepresented key details in the Ripple lawsuit and has called for those responsible to be dismissed. Ripple's supporters are in agreement with Deaton's call for accountability. Ripple recently settled with the SEC for $125 million, and while the SEC has not announced whether it will appeal the rulings, former SEC attorneys believe an appeal is likely. Ripple's Chief Legal Officer, on the other hand, is confident that Ripple will not appeal the judgment.
