Mira Murati, the Chief Technology Officer of OpenAI, has announced her decision to leave the company after six and a half years. In her statement, she stated that she wants to create time and space for her own exploration. Murati played a key role in developing OpenAI's AI products, including the ChatGPT chatbot and DALL-E image generator. Her departure comes just days before OpenAI's annual developer conference. CEO Sam Altman praised her contributions and said that more details on transition plans will be provided soon. Murati's departure follows last year's management upheaval at OpenAI.
