A recent study by CoinWire reveals that the majority of meme coins promoted by influencers in the cryptocurrency industry end up losing 90% or more of their value within three months. The research analyzed data from over 1,500 tokens endorsed by 377 popular influencers, and found that 76% of the meme coins promoted by these influencers were "dead," meaning they had lost 90% or more of their value compared to their initial promotion. The study also showed that after one week, 80% of meme coins promoted by influencers lost 70% of their value, and after a month, 90% of these tokens had lost around 80% of their value. Additionally, only 1% of influencers successfully promoted meme coins, indicating that the chances of significant returns from these investments are extremely low. While influencers benefit financially from promoting meme coins, investors often face heavy losses. The study advises investors to be cautious and question the true value of these promotions, rather than making decisions based solely on social media hype.
