In September, there were more than 20 cyber attacks on various cryptocurrency platforms, resulting in over $120 million in losses. The top incidents involved platforms such as BingX, Penpie, and Indodax. The largest hack occurred at BingX, with losses of over $40 million, followed by Penpie at $27 million and Indodax at over $21 million. Additionally, a phishing attack targeting $spWETH signatures resulted in a $32.4 million drain. Despite the significant losses, the overall damage was lower compared to August, when over $300 million worth of crypto was lost. Centralized finance was the main target, accounting for nearly 75% of successful exploits, with Ethereum being the most attacked blockchain network.
