IOTA, an open-source distributed ledger project, has been selected to join the second cohort of the European Blockchain Sandbox Initiative (EBSI). The EBSI aims to create a more predictable regulatory environment for decentralized technologies by allowing regulators to enhance their understanding of blockchain. IOTA will help support blockchain innovation for decentralized technologies and will participate in discussions on Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and privacy within the Web3 ecosystem. The selected projects in the EBSI second cohort will receive legal and regulatory counsel and have the opportunity to discuss regulatory issues with participating regulators. The initiative sponsors 20 feasible blockchain use cases annually, and as it grows, it will likely play an important role in influencing the future of blockchain technology in Europe. IOTA also focuses on long-term utility, including the development of IOTA 2.0 and Real-World Asset (RWA) tokenization projects.
