The Open Network (TON) has emerged as a leader among Layer-1 networks, with its blockchain accounting for a significant portion of transactions in the L1 space in September. TON gained mainstream attention in 2024 due to several Telegram-related projects launched on its network. Data from CryptoQuant shows that TON is the most popular L1 network in terms of transaction volume, representing 50% of the market in the last month. This traction is attributed to major token launches on TON, including popular tap-to-earn games like Hamster Kombat and Catizen, as well as other projects like DOGS and Watbird. These clicker games have significantly contributed to the growth of the TON ecosystem. Additionally, TON has seen a rise in total value locked (TVL) on its blockchain, with a 40% increase from August 27 to September 30, according to DefiLlama data.
