House Majority Whip Tom Emmer believes that cryptocurrency legislation is coming to the United States regardless of the outcome of the upcoming election. Emmer attributes this shift to changes in tune from both Democrats and Republicans in Congress, as well as the realization that younger voters may prioritize crypto when casting their ballots. While Emmer thinks a Republican-controlled government would likely bring about crypto laws more swiftly, he also prioritizes the passage of market structure framework legislation, a bill outlawing an American CBDC, and a bill to facilitate the creation of dollar-backed stablecoins. However, he warns against creating a new regulatory department specifically for crypto.
