David Hoffman and Ryan Sean Adams, hosts of the Bankless podcast and Ethereum enthusiasts, have faced criticism for allegedly dumping AICC, the token of AI Investment and Development DAO, Aiccelerate. The controversy arose as both Hoffman and Adams, along with the podcast's VC arm, received unlocked token allocations in exchange for small seed investments. Bankless Ventures sold 45,000 AICC for approximately $10,000 each, at an average price of $0.22. Hoffman and Adams defended themselves, stating that the tokens sold were from their Bankless Ventures allocation, not personal investments. The situation has raised concerns about the lack of a lockup period for investor tokens and the actions of one investor, InsiderJudas. Aiccelerate's co-founder, Ejaaz Ahamadeen, plans to donate part of his own allocation to the community and vest the rest to move forward.
