Yassine Elmandjra, the director of digital assets at Ark Investment Management, is leaving the firm after being with them for six and a half years. Elmandjra expressed his gratitude to Ark CEO Cathie Wood and the team for his experiences at the firm. Chris Burniske, partner at Placeholder, was the original cryptocurrency lead for Ark and played a key role in the firm's strategy and research around cryptocurrencies. Ark Investment Management, founded by Wood, focuses on disruptive technologies such as blockchain, AI, gene editing, and electric vehicles. Wood praised Elmandjra for building one of the best cryptocurrency teams in the industry. Last year, Ark Invest launched Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs in the US, and Coinbase is one of the top holdings in the ARK Innovation ETF. Wood had previously predicted that the price of Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030.
