The El Salvador government has opened its first training course for Bitcoin (BTC) and Lightning Network developers. Run by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC), the course will provide its 54 chosen students with a comprehensive education in Bitcoin field. The course is set to start with a “preparatory phase” focusing on economics, monetary history and theory which is going to be concluded at the end of June. Saifedean Ammous, an economist and author of books about Bitcoin will give an in-person lecture for the students. Later the participants will undergo a two-week long coding boot-camp, helping from “rock star” teachers on the field. After that mentorship programs, giving an insight on how the theory can be implemented in real life will follow in August-October.

The CUBO+ course was first introduced back in March and is incentives to university students through credits and possible fellowships. This whole process is being financially supported by Tether, the behind-USD stablecoin and Fulgur Ventures, a Bitcoin and Lightning Network-focused investment organisation. According to the ONBTC: “The aim is excellence. And nothing less. [...] Bitcoin is for everyone. And we will prove that.”

The agenda of the introductory course looks very promising, with the “rock star” Bitcoin and Lightning Network “teachers” that will help the students get the hand of the newest techs. El Salvador continues to show that cryptocurrency is a priority for the nation, with the hope that this course will bring Bitcoin knowledge and skills to the new generation. Increasing the knowledge about cryptocurrency and the mastery of blockchain technology is one of the big steps for wider adoption. This and other understanding Bitcoin related projects are being praised as the driving force of the new cryptocurrency era.
