Celo, a mobile-first blockchain, has joined Chainlink's Scale program to provide developers access to its data feed oracle services. This collaboration presents a great opportunity for the Celo Ecosystem's more than 1000 projects as developers now have access to Chainlink's reliable, secure, and accurate oracle services. The Scale program has been set up by Chainlink to accelerate blockchain growth and enable oracles to be used in smart contracts.

The Celo community voted on a proposal in late March to join the program which was agreed with 93 of the community members voting 'Yes' and 3 voting against. As part of this agreement, the Celo blockchain allocated 5,980,314 of its Celo Tokens (CELO) over a three-year term to node operators to support Chainlink Feeds on the Celo network. This is not the only major partnership Chainlink has recently made, as in February StarkWare, a creator of layer 2 blockchain scaling systems, joined the Scale program.

Chainlink's ecosystem is also continuously expanding. It currently provides 960 data feeds and provides over $7.6 trillion worth of transactions since the start of 2022. This impressive number is a testament to Chainlink's reliability, security, and accuracy.

By joining the Scale program, developers working on the Celo network will have access to these benefits. Furthermore, by having access to Chainlink’s data oracle services at a relatively low cost by paying with CELO tokens, the Celo Ecosystem can enjoys its long-term sustainability.
