The pro-crypto super PAC, Fairshake, has surprised many by choosing to support Democrat Elissa Slotkin over Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's senate race. Fairshake, funded by Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreesen Horowitz, has raised over $276 million this election cycle. The PAC has been throwing its weight behind Democrats with limited crypto credentials, despite Republican candidates like Rogers being pro-industry. The decision by Fairshake to support Slotkin, who had a low rating on Stand With Crypto's website, has puzzled Rogers, who suggests that the PAC's decision may be due to Slotkin's willingness to split with her party and President Joe Biden on crypto-related votes. Fairshake declined to comment on its decision. Rogers believes that Democrats' change in stance is driven by the emergence of massive industry super PACs like Fairshake, but he remains committed to supporting the industry.
