A 21-year-old man from Indiana, Evan Frederick Light, has pleaded guilty to charges of cryptocurrency theft worth over $37 million. Light and his accomplices targeted an investment holding company, stole customers' personal information, and siphoned off cryptocurrencies from nearly 600 victims. The charges include conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering. The U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI have emphasized their commitment to combating cybercrime and holding cybercriminals accountable. The penalties for these charges include up to 20 years in prison, heavy fines, and three years of supervised release. The court may also order compensation for the victims.
