Ripple's Chief Legal Officer, Stuart Alderoty, is disappointed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) decision to appeal the latest ruling in its lawsuit against Ripple Labs. The SEC is challenging a previous decision that partially favored Ripple's viewpoint on the classification of XRP as a security. Alderoty criticized the SEC for prolonging what he called a "complete embarrassment" for the regulator, pointing out that the court had already rejected the SEC's claims of recklessness and found no allegations of fraud or victims in the case. Alderoty hinted at potential internal changes within the SEC, suggesting that the resignation of the agency's Enforcement Director raises questions about how the case was handled internally. Despite the appeal, Alderoty expressed confidence in Ripple's ability to present their case in court.
