Caroline Ellison, who was involved in propping up FTX and Alameda Research, has been sentenced to two years in prison and three years of supervised release. During the sentencing hearing, the focus was shifted towards Ellison's former boss and ex-boyfriend, Sam Bankman-Fried. Prosecutors highlighted the contrast between Bankman-Fried's lack of remorse and Ellison's cooperation and remorse. Ellison's lawyer argued that she was influenced by Bankman-Fried and that her life revolved around him. Despite showing sympathy towards Ellison, the judge ultimately sentenced her to prison, recognizing her cooperation but emphasizing the seriousness of the case. Ellison will serve at least 1.5 years before being eligible for parole.
