BlackRock, the world's largest asset management firm, has launched the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) for options trading on the Nasdaq. This makes IBIT the first cryptocurrency product to reach the final clearing steps and be approved since the SEC approved Bitcoin ETF trading options in September. The launch of IBIT has been met with high market interest, with over $1.9 billion in notional exposure through a total of 354,000 options. The trading options have boosted the price of Bitcoin to a new all-time high of $94,041. The launch of IBIT is seen as a significant milestone for the crypto industry, as it introduces a new level of sophisticated trading. The market is also eagerly awaiting the approval of another Bitcoin ETF trading option, Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB).
