Digital Currency Group (DCG) has launched a new company called Yuma, which will focus on incubating and building businesses that use decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) within the Bittensor ecosystem. Bittensor is a decentralized network for AI that incentivizes individuals to contribute data and computing power for tasks such as text translation and protein chain prediction. Yuma will operate as an accelerator for startups looking to explore Bittensor and as an incubator to partner and build subnets. The CEO of DCG, Barry Silbert, believes that Bittensor could be as transformative as bitcoin and describes it as the "World Wide Web of AI." The use of decentralized AI may help avoid the concentration of power in tech giants and address the tech's opaque and creepy reputation. Yuma currently has five live subnets, with more in development.
