The Shibburn tracking platform has reported a significant burn of SHIB meme coins, with tens of millions of SHIB being transferred into dead-end wallets. The burn rate of SHIB has surged by 1,634.41% in total, locking 32,567,798 SHIB out of circulation. The majority of the burned coins, 31,483,015 SHIB, were sent to an unspendable blockchain address by an anonymous whale. In 2024, a total of 44,623,604,014 SHIB were locked out of circulation, but many enthusiasts expressed their impatience with the slow burn rate. The SHIB community successfully burned 2,679,767,542 SHIB in December. The SHIB lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, announced an upcoming series of podcasts where he will discuss SHIB, tech achievements, and the launch of the TREAT token. Kusama also hinted at more things to come in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including the SHIB Metaverse.
