In 2024, crypto venture capital investments increased by 26.1% compared to the previous year, with 1,535 projects publicly disclosed. Despite a 7.4% month-on-month increase in December, there was a 6.4% year-on-year decrease. Total funding for December reached $740 million, a 60.9% increase from November but an 18.7% decline compared to December 2023. The year's disclosed funding amounted to $9.33 billion, slightly exceeding 2023's total. DeFi led in terms of project percentage, followed by NFT/GameFi, Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions, and AI projects. Significant funding rounds included Stripe's acquisition of Bridge for $1.1 billion, Iris Energy's $413.4 million stock issuance, and Avalanche's $250 million token sale. Other notable deals involved Robinhood, Bitfarms, CleanSpark, Hut 8, and Farcaster.
