Coinbase has announced that it will be adding USDC on the Sui network to its roadmap. This decision comes as demand for stablecoins continues to grow and the adoption of digital currencies increases. The Sui network will be the first to support native USDC using the Move programming language. Circle, the issuer of USDC, has made it available on 16 blockchain networks. There is also a bridged version of USDC on Sui called wUSDC, which cannot be used or redeemed with Circle. The integration partner Wormhole will allow for the transfer of USDC between blockchains on Sui. Many leading ecosystem apps are expected to support native USDC on Sui for various purposes. The exact date of USDC's availability on Coinbase is yet to be announced.
