Crypto wallet Phantom has announced beta support for Base, Coinbase's layer-2 network. Users can now manage assets across multiple chains, including sending, receiving, and purchasing Base-based stablecoins and cryptocurrencies. Base support is currently in beta and opt-in, and Phantom also offers features such as compatibility with Ledger devices, automatic spam detection, and transaction simulation. Phantom recently completed a $109 million series B funding round, and the wallet supports multiple networks including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Coinbase's Base network has faced security challenges, with over 34,000 high-risk detections in its smart contracts during August.
