The increasing focus on RLUSD has caused concern among community members about the future role of XRP in Ripple's business. The Chief Technical Officer, David Schwartz, addressed these concerns by emphasizing the importance of XRP for transaction fees and its unique advantages. However, he acknowledged that if stablecoins prove more effective than XRP, it could lead to a decline in its importance. Schwartz also stated that increasing fees to increase XRP's scarcity is not a priority, as the XRP Ledger should prioritize serving its users.
