Bitcoin is the 8th largest crypto asset currently in terms of market capitalization. At the time of writing, it stands at $539.16 billion and continually surpassing prominent companies including Visa and LVMH. The crypto asset has experienced a meteoric rise in terms of its popularity since the start of 2021, with its value climbing steadily.

This rise has resulted in the price of Bitcoin surpassing the market caps of global companies like Visa and LVMH. According to CMC stats, Visa’s market cap sat at $465.13 billion while LVMH was close behind at $495.84 billion.

At the moment, the global leader in terms of market capitalisation is Apple, which stands at $2605.24B. What’s more, it is just $20.29B away from passing Meta and sliding into the number seven spot.

In March 2021, Bitcoin’s value surpassed Meta’s market cap at $469 billion, highlighting the continuing increase signalled by the surge of the crypto asset. While Bitcoin still remains 59% off its November 2021 peak price of $69,044, additional price rises could cause it to rapidly climb the ranks and reach further heights.
