A South Korean woman has been arrested for stealing $480,000 worth of cryptocurrency from a friend to pay off her debts. The woman stole her friend's phone and accessed the victim's crypto holdings, selling them for cash and transferring the funds to her own bank accounts. She was quickly tracked down and confessed her motive was to pay off debts. This incident follows previous cases of cryptocurrency theft in South Korea, such as a banker who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for stealing $12.4 million from his employer to fund his crypto addiction.
