Scammers have found a new way to exploit crypto users by sharing seed phrases in the comments section of YouTube videos. The scammers trick victims into attempting to steal funds from a multi-signature wallet, but end up falling victim to the scam themselves. Russia's Kaspersky cybersecurity firm uncovered the scam after a suspicious comment appeared under a finance YouTube video. The user shared their seed phrase and asked for help transferring funds, prompting experts to flag it. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has warned against receiving crypto through a private key or hardware wallet, as this can give the giver continued access to the funds. Kaspersky warns users to avoid sharing seed phrases and be cautious of similar schemes.
