The altcoins XRP and Hedera (HBAR) have experienced significant price increases since a pro-crypto candidate won the 2024 US presidential elections. XRP gained 328% while HBAR climbed 457% since then. XRP reached multi-year highs in early December and despite dropping to fourth position, has seen a surge in the number of non-empty wallets. The price increase for XRP followed news of American crypto firms thriving under the new administration and the debut of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. Additionally, talks of building a derivatives exchange on the XRP Ledger with Bitstamp could boost XRP's price in 2025. HBAR's price increase has propelled it into the top 20 largest digital assets, with rumors of President-elect Trump owning the altcoin. Other strong altcoins include Cardano (ADA), Chainlink (LINK), Dogecoin (DOGE), Stellar (XLM), and Sui (SUI), which have all seen significant gains. Altcoins have gained momentum as Bitcoin has reached a $2 trillion valuation, with investors moving profits from BTC to altcoins. A significant altcoin rally will occur when Bitcoin's dominance in the market decreases.
