Crypto analyst Leonidas has brought attention to the extremely low fees associated with transferring large sums of money on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This comes after Ripple transferred 380 million XRP worth $915.17 million to a wallet, paying a fee of only 0.0005 XRP for the transaction. Leonidas tracked subsequent movements of the funds and calculated that the total cost of moving $1.88 billion worth of XRP was 0.000545 XRP ($0.0013). This highlights the XRPL as a network with ultra-low transaction fees compared to other blockchains and traditional financial systems. XRPL is known for having lower fees than Bitcoin, Cardano, Polygon, and Ethereum. XRPL validators have also implemented measures to make the network more affordable and accessible to users, including reducing the fees required to open an XRPL account.
