Former White House Communications Director, Anthony Scaramucci, expressed doubt in the success of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's proposal to reduce government spending by $2 trillion annually. Scaramucci cited the slow legislative process in Washington and the difficulties of implementing fiscal reform as potential obstacles. He emphasized the importance of cutting government waste but warned against slashing essential programs. Scaramucci advocated for a return to "pay-as-you-go" legislation and proposed gradual measures to curb spending. He also highlighted the challenges of making cuts in major budget areas such as Social Security, Medicare, and military spending. Musk and Ramaswamy are set to helm the Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) under the upcoming Trump administration, drawing inspiration from Argentina's fiscal reforms. The D.O.G.E. program will provide recommendations to President-elect Donald Trump on reducing waste and improving efficiency in federal operations. However, it does not possess direct enforcement powers and the final decision on implementing proposals lies with the Trump administration.
