The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is planning to extend weekday trading hours on its NYSE Arca equities exchange in order to accommodate the growing demand for US-listed securities, including Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). If approved, trading could be extended to 22 hours a day, 5 days a week, positioning NYSE Arca as a nearly around-the-clock trading platform. This move comes as interest in Bitcoin ETFs has increased, and the extended hours would allow traders from various time zones to have increased access to US-listed stocks and crypto ETFs. The plan requires regulatory approval and aims to create a more inclusive trading environment in line with the global nature of contemporary financial markets.
