Fast food giant McDonald's has partnered with Web3-native brand Doodles to launch a collaboration that features custom cups showcasing Doodles' Ethereum NFT collection. Customers who purchase the limited-edition cups can unlock digital collectibles and content and access co-branded physical merchandise. The marketing campaign, titled "GM Spread Joy," aims to provide an immersive experience for customers and pays homage to the Crypto Twitter mantra. The promotion will be available at participating McDonald's restaurants in the US. McDonald's had previously used NFTs to promote its purple icon Grimace and launched a metaverse game called My Happy Place. This collaboration with Doodles represents McDonald's biggest step into the NFT space since unveiling McRib-inspired NFTs in 2021. Doodles' NFT collection, comprising 10,000 generative profile pictures, is currently valued at $64 million.
