Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are teaming up with President-elect Donald Trump to create a project called the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) that aims to dismantle red tape and reduce the U.S. government's budget. DOGE will function as an advisory body and aims to achieve $2 trillion in cuts. It plans to identify and eliminate waste and fraud within the budget. Trump, Musk, and Ramaswamy believe DOGE can succeed where previous attempts failed by leveraging Musk's ability to break or bend rules. Musk and Ramaswamy will serve as "special government employees," allowing them to work with the federal government without disclosing or selling their assets. DOGE will operate under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, ensuring transparency. Trump also plans to hand control of education policy and funding back to the states and target Medicare fraud. Musk's involvement in DOGE coincides with the rise of Dogecoin, which has experienced significant growth in the post-election crypto rally.
