OpenAI has unveiled video capabilities for its ChatGPT, allowing users to point their phones at objects for real-time AI analysis. The feature, released to Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers, enables ChatGPT to provide feedback and interact with users in real time. OpenAI's announcement comes shortly after Google showcased its own camera-enabled AI assistant, and Meta also demonstrated its AI capabilities through phone cameras. OpenAI's release is part of its "12 Days of OpenAI" campaign and follows previous announcements, including the launch of its o1 model, the ChatGPT Pro plan, and the introduction of its generative video app Sora. The feature's release was delayed due to controversy over mimicking Scarlett Johansson's voice without her permission. Meanwhile, Google's Project Astra is currently available to trusted testers on Android but is expected to have a broader rollout in early 2023.
