BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, has stated that it will focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs instead of launching altcoin ETFs. The company's president, Jay Jacobs, emphasized that their exploration of Bitcoin and Ethereum has just begun and that interest in these cryptocurrencies is just the tip of the iceberg. BlackRock believes there is still a lot of potential in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, as they currently only reach a small number of customers. While some investors appreciate this approach, others argue for a more gradual introduction of new ETFs to avoid increased volatility. Applications for altcoin ETFs, such as Solana (SOL) and XRP, have already been submitted, but BlackRock has closed the door on launching them. It is expected that SOL and XRP ETFs may be approved in the US by the end of 2025.
