Astro Bot, developed by Team Asobi, has been named the Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2024. The game also received awards for Best Direction, Best Action/Adventure Game, and Best Family Game. Astro Bot had a total of seven nominations, making it the most prominent game at the awards show. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was another highly nominated title, receiving the same number of nominations. Other games nominated for the Game of the Year included Black Myth: Wukong, Balatro, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
