The price of Bitcoin briefly reached $73,000 before experiencing a significant correction. Data from CryptoQuant shows that over the past year, 278,000 BTC have flowed into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the US, with 80% of those funds coming from retail investors. Additionally, 670,000 BTC have been added to whale wallets with holdings of over 1,000 BTC. Institutional demand for BTC in custodial wallets is reportedly twice that of retail demand. The total holdings of Bitcoin ETFs approved in the US have surpassed 1 million BTC, with a total market capitalization of over $70 billion. The leading ETF, IBIT, traded $3.3 billion in a single day, which was seen as unusual given the BTC price rise. The milestone of 1 million BTC holdings comes during the anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper.
