Banco Bisa, a bank in Bolivia, has launched a service that allows customers to buy, sell, and transfer the stablecoin Tether (USDT) directly through their bank accounts. The service is aimed at addressing the weakening currency and high inflation in the country, making it easier for people to send money to relatives abroad, store USDT, transfer funds internationally, and make payments for family members studying overseas. The service has a daily limit of 10,000 USDT and incurs various fees. It is unclear if the service will be available for everyday transactions at local merchants. Bolivia has relatively low crypto adoption compared to other Latin American countries.
